Yay:D
(but that was kind-of a weirdly disorganized acceptance speech, eh?)

I totally agree on the speech part but YEAH for him and the Dixie Chicks. I got a little choked up when they sang the part about the death threat in the Grammy performance. It's still so crazy what they went through.

I hope this is a sign of more good things to come for Dan this year. Can't wait for Wednesday!

Did anyone record this? I normally tape and skim the awards ceremony, but I totally spaced it off this year.

Nope. And frankly, I would never think to do so. However, I would have liked to this year, considering I MISSED THE POLICE REUNION in the first five minutes....

That was definitely an odd speech, and I was bummed that you didn't actually get to SEE Dan save for five seconds of the back of his head in the background. Oh well.

Well, I hope someone YouTubes Dan's speech. That was just about the only part of the Grammys I was interested in...save for the Police reunion.

re: The Police

while i'm a huuuge huge fan, and was frothing at the mouth when this reunion was first announced, it was a pretty average performance of an incredibly overplayed song. Copeland is still the man however.

congrats to Dan! it may even be to his advantage now that his album has been delayed so long, as maybe his name will be more recognizable now.

Oh man, I missed the part where Dan spoke all together. I saw the one where they accepted the award for "Not Ready to Make Nice" as record of the year, when one of them asked "is Dan Wilson up here?" and missed the other part. Dangit!

I wonder if there is a Grammy tradition similar to the one for the Stanley Cup, where each player gets to keep the Cup for 24 hours, drive it all around town, drink champagne from it, take pictures with it at Dreamgirls, etc. Dan could show his off at the show at the Cedar.

Maybe we should start a similar tradition with the MMA Award, now that we have one.

Between "All Kinds" and "Breathless" I'm a happy, happy girl. They played "All Kinds" on The Current a few days ago and I was all happily confused. Go DW! (finally)
