long story short.....
while crossing the mississippi river last night in my car, I i lost my most prized possession... my yellow stocking cap.

this is not a woe is me speech, i just thought if any of my hwts homies see a yellow stocking cap somewhere for sale... pick it up... and i will pay you back and paint your house and wash your car and be your best friend forever

sorry for the off-topic, but high on stress already has a guitar player and I could really use a new lucky hat.

i would post a picture of it but i dont know how to do that!
thanks for your time.

sad, sad, day.

it was the first day of the year that i could get it out...

and it sounds stupid, but i just really, really, liked the way it felt on my head and i really liked the way i looked wearing it.

I think the "etc." in "Musicians wanted, etc." definitely includes lost beloved yellow caps.

I might just be making a trip to Salvation Army over lunch today, we'll see!

oh no!!! I have that gold crown previously discussed, but it will NOT look the same w/out the hat underneath.

This calls for a Stook! hat scavenger hunt!

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuque

Tuques are indispensable in cold climates, and are worn worldwide in various forms. They have become the common headgear for stereotypical dockworkers and sailors in movies and television. The most famous media characters to sport this kind of hat are the SCTV characters, Bob and Doug McKenzie. Michael Nesmith of The Monkees also wore this hat in his television series. Bill Murray wore this type of hat in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, possibly as a parody of the tuque worn by Jacques Cousteau. The guitarist for the Irish band U2, The Edge, is known for wearing a tuque while performing, or during interviews.

Midwestern singer/songwriter Stook! is also known for his beloved yellow tuque, a necessity of cold Minnesota winters (sadly lost in a gust of wind over the Mississippi River).

Haha, I just noticed you did put that in there on the actual Wikipedia page. Man, I hope that doesn't go away anytime soon. Do you think the Wikipedia editors in charge of winter headgear articles pay that much attention?

David

I say we watch it and see how long it takes to go away. And I would be wary of any Wikipedia anecdotes cited as comingfrom 76.17.156.246 for a while. :)

Nah, Carhart is a righteous label -- kind of the John Deere of the workingman set. That would give Stook! some additional street cred.

If you bring it over, I can spill coffee on it and I'll run it over a few times in the driveway with my car. All for free of course. Anything to help out a friend. :)

I have a totally unrelated question:

the tele you are playing in that...anything unique about it other than the strat neck? Stock pickups etc.?

Stook only brought one hat, and it was on his head.

BTW, the Stook/Israelcast is HI-larious. Both Stook and Dan have both been offered a preview, but the master tapes to the interview are now being guided by a dog named Cerberus pending actual actual release on 10/15. Stay fucking tuned.

Stook losing his hat and the ensuing support is likely to end up one of the top Minnesota music events of 2007, perhaps even outweighing the fact that Stook (believe it or not) actually plays music!
