I know it's only Tuesday but this week has been loooong, already.

Friday: I'm at a bachelor party for my good friend Nick. No shows, unless I can review the *ahem* "show" at Choice or the KOD or something :)

Saturday: I'm torn, I really want to cover Mogwai but "Mr. Beast" has me a little underwhelmed and Signal to Trust, Superdanger, The Slats, XOXO Judy and The Amino Acids are playing at the Turf..... still undecided.

Wednesday: My extremely unofficial b-day party extravaganza also known as Transmission at the Hexagon

Friday: TV Sound CD Release at the Turf! Yay. Sponsored by HWTS staff and featuring much dancing and site pimping by yours truly.

I would totally pimp this site while dancing on Friday if I could.

My plan so far is to stand in the middle of the dance floor throwing handfuls of HWTS buttons and HWTS party flyers in the air while shaking my ass.

I should make the bus drive directly to the Turf just so I can witness that. :)

And she's reviewing the show, so she'll also be taking notes. Should be interesting to see. (I'll get photos.)

Sounds like I'll probably be at the Turf Club two nights this weekend. Whew.

And of course, an early start to the weekend tomorrow night at Hexagon. Happy early birthday, Andrea!

Wait, isn't the TV Sound thing at the Varsity? It's listed on their calender. Did it get changed, or am I crazy?

David

Good eye, Zoj. Yes, most definitely at the Varsity. After we get the promo stuff up for the show tonight or tomorrow no one will be making that mistake again.

Varsity. Friday. TV Sound. HowWasTheShow sponsored event.

I still might be seeing two Turf shows this weekend anyway after Aaron pointed out Como Ave Jug Band on Sunday. And I'll still be at the Friday show.

I may also do Twilight Singers on Thursday, although it would help if someone else was going. Anyone?

I'm considering Cloud Cult, Dosh and Kid Dakota at the Varsity on Saturday. Not sure yet.

I'd love to see Kid Dakota at the Varsity. I'm considering that, too, but I don't think I'd stick around for Cloud Cult, so I can't decide if it's worth the $10. Might be worth it just to see Kid Dakota at that venue, though.

Dave

Dosh should be worth it, too. I'm kinda torn.

Thanks, Dave! I hope everyone can make it out tomorrow night, I think it will be fun.

And Zoj, you are totally right, it is at the Varsity. I am a week ahead, for some reason I got confused because of the HWTS shindig at the Turf and all the promo stuff we have been doing lately. We will definitely be at the VARSITY on Friday night.

I'm going to Wolfmother at the Fine Line on Sat (5/20). Haven't been to a show in a few weeks, so I'm pretty excited to get back out there.

This is where I will be on Friday. For the buttons.

Oh, and then on to the Unknown Prophets show at the Fine Line.

The big event of my weekend: THOMAS DOLBY. I didn't write the show up for the paper due to a publicist snafu, which is a shame because I'm more excited about this show than I have been about anything for a long time. Oh my god, I can't believe I get to see Thomas Dolby!

Vaz/The Blind Shake/The Danforths/Build My Gallows High at the Turf Club on Friday. Or, maybe the Belles of Skin City release show at the Triple Rock (there's an all-ages show as well on Sunday).

I'm probably gonna check out the Art-a-Whirl show at Grumpy's on Saturday. Haven't decided yet.

This is kinda cool, from Ross's column (http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/entertainment/music/14601593.htm) this week:

Speaking of the Varsity, it looks like the venue to beat this weekend with a full roster of intriguing gigs. The TV Sound marks the release of a new-wave-tastic new disc Friday with support from This World Fair and the Alarmists. (Obscure reference: At times, the TV Sound really reminds me of the short-lived Brit synth duo Orlando.) Cloud Cult returns to town Saturday with Dosh and Kid Dakota, while Sunday night's lineup includes Chris Koza, West Elliot, Willie Wisely and Kubla Khan.

Cheers, Varsity!

And Twilight Singers tonight!

Are you going, Bob? I'm going through my usual bout of Thursday tiredness, but am looking for the motivation. I'm not a huge fan but the three times I've seen Dulli he hasn't disappointed.

I was a huge fan of the Whigs, but I have cooled on the newer stuff. I would definitely be there if I didn't have school tonight. :(

I love that he's been taking potshots at Kevin Federline..excuse me, K-Fed about sampling "She Blinded Me With Science" without permission. It's amazing Federline was arrogant enough to think there would be no backlash.

I'd like to check out Kraig/Bill Mike at the Fine Line tonight, but $14? I'm still deciding if I want to fork over the money.
