I have managed to get myself sucked into Heavy: The Story of Metal on VH1.
I love these kinds of shows. Anyone have any other favorites of note?

My personal favorite would be the History of Rock 'N Roll series that was on PBS back in like '95. That show changed my life, I think I was probably in the eleventh grade. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably still be listening to nothing but classic rock and Fleetwood Mac would still be my favorite band....

Ok, back to the Metal.

A movie, not a TV show, but speaking of metal, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094980/) is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. The scene of Chris Holmes from W.A.S.P. being interviewed while floating on a chair in the pool drinking vodka while his mom sits poolside is either tragic or true comedy, depending on your viewpoint. Either way, I will never forget it.

yeah, it's definitely both. because at first it's almost like a caricature and then it's overwhelmingly depressing.

From memory:

Interviewer: "Chris, do you think you might be covering up a lot of pain?"
Chris: "Sure."
