This is pretty much a must-read article about 89.3 and Minnesota Public Radio. If you don't read it, you're gonna be out of the musical loop by oh, say, 10 minutes ago.

Good story, even gave me some trivia that I didn't know before re: Mary L.'s sibling.
I don't know much about the concert venue issue the article brought up, but I think the commercial radio complaint that the Current asks for money is strange. Consumers vote with their dollars, and the fundraising success of the station suggests just how hungry music consumers were for a station with more variety and imagination.
I still listen to other stations such as 105 and 97 but most of my radio time is split between the Current and the MPR news station. MPR might be a 90 ton gorilla, as public radio stations go, but they got that way by making smart moves like launching the Current.
