MINNEAPOLIS, MN, MARCH 9, 2007-----The Whole Music Club offers the fifth semester of Making Music, a series that features talented musicians with connections to the Twin Cities. Local musician JG Everest hosts the show, which includes interviews, live demonstrations, videos, exclusive and unreleased tracks, prizes and Q+A from the audience. This spring, Making Music is proud to feature Ryan Olcott (ex-12 Rods, Mystery Palace) on March 29, Josh Grier (Tapes ?n Tapes) on April 12, and Dessa (Doomtree) on April 26. These events start at 8pm and are free and open to the public. Space is limited and attendees are recommended to arrive early.

The Making Music series provides an intimate setting along with in-depth historical and technical discussions surrounding the development and creation of popular music. The artists featured in the Making Music series provide unique, first-person accounts of their methods and driving forces. JG Everest serves as a catalyst for this exchange of ideas by asking questions from the perspective of a fellow working musician.

Each Making Music event features a combination of interviews, live musical demonstrations, video, exclusive and unreleased tracks, archival documents from the artist's personal collections, prizes, and Q+A with the audience. In previous evenings, Making Music attendees have seen everything to Martin Dosh giving a step-by-step demonstration of a performance of ?Call the Kettle Back? to Dave King fantasizing about backing Elvis in Las Vegas.

The Whole Music Club (WMC) is a historic entertainment venue in the basement of Coffman Union, renown for offering up-and-coming performers at affordable prices. Since the 1960's, performers have included Big Black, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams, Green Day, Bonnie Raitt, Nada Surf, The Bravery, Brother Ali, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk to name a few. Notably, many of these performers were selected, booked and promoted by University students. The WMC provides not only excellent concerts, but a laboratory for students to learn the inner workings of the music business.
