Pimp Your Show Generally speaking, if you are a band or a promoter, or booking agent, your show announcements should go here, not in the Live Shows forum. The Live Shows forum is for users to discuss shows they have seen or are likely to attend. If you post promotional announcements for shows you are involved with, they will be moved here.

I'm working up an interview with the aforementioned Raven as we speak -- so far, very illuminative.

For the link challenged, here's the Raven interview:

http://www.howwastheshow.com/index.c.../reviewKey/666

This may not be funny, but Monday at the Arctic Monkeys, Raven deadpanned, "The first band is Useless." I suppose, Sean, that making people say stuff like that was part of your intention when you named the group.

Anyway, see you tomorrow.

I'm still working on photos, but I can tell you straight off two highlights of the night.

1) The Alarmists playing a good chunk of side 2 of Abbey Road, from "Mean Mr. Mustard" to "The End" brilliantly, and

2) Useless! (My added exclamation point) totally tearing up Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. Not only was the song unexpected, it unexpectedly rocked. Sean actually ended up breaking his bass drum pedal. Christ.

Here's Useless, who played promptly at 8PM to a very lucky few people, most of whom felt the same about the Baker Street cover as I did.
