Don't freak out. I just spent 12 hours on a forum upgrade. I think it worked. I am sure there will be a lot of bugs to work out. The old one is safe if we need to revert.

About 6 hours in I realized I should probably stop drinking wine.
Setting it up was easy. Getting all the old data imported and making this forum work the same as the old one was the trick. Totally different database format.

New forum looks good. Quick and more readable, in my opinion. Thanks!

Thanks. As the dust settles, I'm pretty happy with the semi-seamless transition. Gotta put the customizations back in so we're not lost in space from the rest of the site, and we can call it a week.
RSS feed coming soon.

Yup, me too. Just addressed it in another thread.
The thing I noticed is improved from the old phpBB forum is that "New Posts" shows all new posts as opposed to just all forums with new posts and the last post in that forum. I used to go in and read, then had to refresh to see that I missed another new post in a top level forum. That problem is history.

I also like how the front page tells you not only that a category has new posts, but also the name of the thread that was updated. I'll probably still click regardless of whether I care about the thread, just to reset the "new posts" icon, but it's still nice to know.

The link to my website seems to be missing, but it's still in my profile. How do I un-disappear it?
