#21 isn't bad, but pretty sure Naturally was top 10 in 2005 for me

and the album isn't bad by any means, just didn't like it as much as her others. more like 7.8 vs. 8.3 is all.

I am going out on a limb judging by the fact that I have only heard the record a single time and in concert, but I am willing to bet that the new Janelle Monae album, Archandroid, is going to be pretty great. Total space rock opera, psychedellic hip hop shit.

I know Kyle mentioned the Of Montreal influence (which Monae credits on the album) and I definitely see and hear it both in the music and the live show. I wonder if people will start name dropping Bowie as well?

I bet Pitchfork throws out some Sun Ra references, just to out-nerd everyone else

After 3 or 4 days, both LCD and BSS are proving to be really great. Other albums that are currently taking up my free time that are awesome include:

Woods- At Echo Lake (somehow better than Songs of Shame)
Holy Fuck- Latin (again...somehow better than their last record...which was self titled if I remember correctly)
Poison Control Center- Sad Sour Future (just a really great band that I am always happy to hear new stuff from)

not even 1/2 way through the new Black Keys album 'Brothers' and I can safely put this in my favorites of the year category

edit: just finished... dayum. this is gonna impress fans and non-fans alike. they've taken it to another level with this album.

The National - High Violet, if you can hold off the really shitty quality leaked version from this morning, they're streaming it in high quality on the NY Times on Friday.
