With the forecast calling for 100 degrees, sunny and windy in the Twin Cities tomorrow, what do you plan to do to beat the heat?
And as a somewhat related question, what are some songs that always just seem to cool you down? A roommate of mine years ago suggested "Snowman" by XTC. Any others come to mind?

Seriously, "When It's Over" by Sugar Ray. My first memory of that song is sitting by the wave pool at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, drinking the severalth of many MaiTais and basking in about 112 degree temperature.
The song didn't cool me down, but the MaiTais sure did. |

I plan to "beat the heat" on Sunday with an afternoon of kickball and a big jug o' water (beating the heat in this case has nothing to do with staying cool, it's having fun in spite of it). Who's in?

Rachac, I had a brief yet lovely infatuation with Sugar Ray while on a school trip to San Diego, and the heat reminds me of them as well! Ah, to be young and obsessed with Mark McGrath.

I will have to take your word on being young and obsessed with Mark McGrath -- I was neither when I first heard the song. But two years later (also in Vegas), I saw Sugar Ray warm up for Matchbox20, and blew them out of the water.

I never got to see them live, which is probably a good thing because I would have been flailing and shrieking embarassingly. I did, however, get to see Lit in that same era of summer pop/punk glory.
