5/28/2008 Curtis A w/ Radiodrummer at the Hexagon Bar

The Magnolias' drummer Tom Cook refers to his project Radiodrummer as a “screw off band” on his MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/wdmr). Be that as it may, with Cook behind the kit, Radiodrummer still rocked the socks of the Hexagon Bar Saturday night better than many bands half their age.

If I had to guess, the four current members of this band have at least 100 years of rock & roll experience amongst them, and I count myself lucky that I landed at the Hex Saturday night for the Bob Dylan birthday show and got to see them in action for the first time for myself.

This week’s Photo of the Week is of the inimitable Curtis A who himself has been at it for 30 years since his work with The Spooks (a band he started with Slim Dunlap) in 1978.

On a sad note, it was at this show that I learned from Tom Cook that Root Of All Evil radio host Earl Root had lost his battle with cancer. Root Of All Evil’s MySpace page will be kept up by his friends in memorial:  http://www.myspace.com/rootofallevil
