8/24/2008 MN State Fair Provides Fried Food & Fabulous Music

The end of summer here in Minnesota is generally marked by the arrival of the Minnesota State Fair.  We celebrate with greasy food on a stick, our favorite 89.3 The Current radio hosts having stare-downs with the crowd while trapped behind glass, rides and oversized stuffed animals in the Midway, and all sorts of interesting people-watching. 

The past couple of years has produced not only good shows at the Grandstand (the main stage at the fair), but also some amazing FREE shows.  In 2008 we are lucky enough to have two nights of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and HowWasTheShow Photographer Jon Behm was gracious enough to share some beautiful snaps from her show.  Don't fret you've missed all the free goodies, however, as Brandi Carlile performs tonight (Aug. 25) and tomorrow, and Trampled by Turtles show off their proud MN roots on August 29 & 30.
