Twin Cities musicians Murray and Devaney are involved in a yet-unnamed project that will debut December 28th at the Mad Ripple Sunday Night All-Star Hootenanny, part of Bootlegger’s new “Original Songs & Sour Mash Sundays” series in downtown Minneapolis.
Murray says of the project, “We're trying to tap the feel of classic folk-rock duets like Johnny and June Cash, or Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, but with an unconventional twist if we can. So far our songs have been fully collaborative efforts. We've discovered that we have a pretty great synergy when it comes to writing songs together, and our voices blend well. Plus, we live together, so we have lots of time to work on it.”
Murray and Devaney have booked time at Shortman Studio with Darren Jackson when he and Kid Dakota get back from their European tour. “We're gonna have an all-star guest line-up for recording,” Murray added. “With pedal steel, strings, some trippy guitar, and lots of harmonies.”
