The release of the shining new Alarmists EP, A Detail of Soldiers, wasn't the only remarkable thing that occurred Friday night at the Varsity. Mike Schwandt, lead singer of White Light Riot, sustained a mighty blow to his head right smack in the middle of their energetic set. The culprit? The top of his own guitar.
"I was rocking out so hard that I accidentally hit my head on my own guitar," Schwandt says. "But I am doing fine after getting seven stitches during the Alarmists set...afterwards I still met up with them at the after party and raged until 7:00 in the morning. It was a fantastic night even with the whole debacle!!"
If there was ever a doubt that rock stars White Light Riot were the real deal, Schwandt proved his hardcore rock tendencies by playing half a set with blood dripping down the side of his face. Party on, man!
