11/5/2006 Stephanie Davila of the Winter Blanket at the Turf

The Winter Blanket might depress you if it wasn't that they're likely to cheer you up by virtue of being so damn good. Though they specialize in "slow and moody," far from putting you to sleep, they may, in fact, give you something to stay up late and think about.

On hand to take pictures for the show, I leaned into HowWasTheShow writer Bob Longmore more than once to teasingly say, "I don't think they're gonna rock." But I was so okay with that.

I captured this photo of Stephanie Davila as she led the band through "Cold," from their just-released EP Golden Sun.
