Kristine surrounded herself with record albums in the '70s when her father was the national training director for Musicland. Ever since she has been obsessed with music. She is not embarrassed to admit that she and her friends were middle school Duran Duran groupies - begging her parents to drive downtown in order to buy imports at the Block E Northern Lights. Luckily she had the opportunity to see U2's Unforgettable Fire concert from the second row at the Minneapolis Auditorium; this completely changed her musical perspective. Kristine majored in Spanish and Humanities and eventually landed in law school. As much as she loves law, she was unsatisfied with legal writing. This led her to accost Mr. de Young at the Hexagon bar during a Vicious Vicious/Mark Mallman show. She has been writing for HowWasTheShow ever since.
She is also the managing editor for the online arts and literature publication mentalcontagion.com. Kristine's musical taste ranges from Radiohead to the Grateful Dead; but it took three years living in Los Angeles to solidify her love for Minnesota music.
