Born into a dark world of evil, decadence and depravity, young Joe Lang, son of guitarist Peter Lang, was raised in a small suburban neighborhood outside Minneapolis. Helping out his family harvest the potato fields on their modest farm, his unique gifts went unnoticed during his childhood. As the years went by, he felt something grow stronger within him.

After an accident which took the life of his best friend, squiddy the squid, he vowed to use his powers differently. Rather than for his own gains, he began using his powers of observation to help humanity, a path that often alienates him from others, even those closest to him. Now, equipped with his mullet of truthiness, he wanders the streets at night, his sights set on lampooning snobbery, hypocrisy, ignorance, bombast and other parasitic delusions compromising truth, justice and the American way.

He is also a fan of improvisational music including electric blues, jazz and world music. According to the petulant and torpid caretaker of his house, he performs his tasty brand of electric "GIT-TAHR" music too loud. He vows never to alter the decibel level.
